Camping was great, up at 5am, great sleep. Last night camping our site had hot water so filled a bottle with hot water for my sleeping bag, that was great. Although all night I worried I would unscrew the top of the bottle and a .5l of water in my tent. Wrote postcards, checked some nav ideas for tomorrow.
Now at lake Louise, Howard buys us coffees, we wander the hotel like we are guests. I suspect they are on to us, I'm in motorcycle gear, but I did get a shower the previous night so not so bad.
Amazing views, beautiful day. Off to our next stop...
The Crossing, sorta a midpoint for food and gas. Glad I don't have a car as the bike cost about 50 to fill up. But a full bike is a happy bike. For half a tank of gas I have a burger and soda, now I'm full. Beautiful day, picts to follow. Off to Jasper!
Landed in Grand cache smokey river campground, and eating at a campsite different from ours. Feeding the mosquitos and avoiding feeding the bears. Speaking of animals, one big grizzly, 2 brown bears about 3-4 feet tall a fox or something like that last night at camp and of course the white but buck animal. Animal count is going up.
Nice ride, put some miles in, even with the long stops for scenery and food. Really hard not to stop. We both notice, not doing 90mph, our mpg has gone up by at least 25%. We both also realize doing 65 is easier on us and the bikes.
About 9pm, although at camp the discussion is that it really is 8pm as we are so close to the next time zone, or in hawaii it would 5pm, regardless, it is pau Hana time for this guy.
Regardless, long day and I hope to let my fingers babbale some more. But for now, an amazingly comfortable fire, very quite and peacfull.
.
Sweet dreams to one and all!
