Well that was cold, 26f this morning with frozen water all over, how crazy is this. This is after two previous days of cold and wet riding to Stewert and from Stewert to our camp site nesr lake burns. glad Howard suggest a motel in stewert, bugs where relentless and very much in the face.
Its the end of the month as we know it.
Woke up at 4am to some very cold but clear skies. Bike showed 30.2f, weather app for area showed 26f, I'm guessing 26, frozen water and a chilly night. No bears to feed but a car at midnight showed up at a campsight near us and left engine running for about 30 minutes. I got up and flashed my lights at them, but I suspect windows where too steamed up for them to notice. Moon was out and a stary night sky, so that was worth it. Now a quarter to 6 and we are packing up.
Two cups of coffee.. my phone is being charged from a portable battery, but says slow charging due to the low temperature. It really is silly cold.
Off to horseshoe bay, but most likely one more night before we get there. I checked the ferry last night and found it booked, so called and spoke to yet another nice canadian. They don't book bikes as they always have room, so great news for sure. Canadians are the coolest people on the planet.
645am and we are on our way, we'll belay that, we had to warm up the key fobs so the bikes could turn on. Then while riding with a snow flake on my dash, I got two warnings. One to say an orange triangle is a warning, the other to say caution, it can be icey... oiii.
We stop for gas at 6:59am but store person is running late. We wait, they open and we get gas and water. Off we go, but still pretty chilly.
We finally arrive at Texas creek campground. I'm trying to eat thru some of my camping meals, so Howard heads to town for some food. It's a beautiful evening with expected Lows of about 60f.
Keep the shiny side up!
